Inspiration

Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this?

Pablo Picasso

As I was biking home from work yesterday, I was struck by what an amazing summer it has been. There is something about the longs days of summer light that is so refreshing. One of the many highlights of summer was sitting in on a couple of Photography classes given by one of my colleagues Paul Liebhardt. Paul was talking about the famous photographer Richard Avedon. Before Avedon was famous, he was in the Coast Guard where he took ID card photos. It was in that unlikely place that his fascination with faces began. This fascination affected and directed the rest of his life. And here is my thought for you – remember that photographic inspiration and training can come from the most unlikely places. Keep your eyes and ears open!

Finally, I hope that this newsletter has been a bit of help and inspiration for you. If you are headed out to Photoshop World in Vegas, be sure to stop by and say hello!

Cheers!
